Depicts an Egyptian motif showing the
strength of the oppressors in contrast to the
vulnerability of the infant Moses in the basket in the
river. He is shown in the arms of the princess who knew
he was a Hebrew. Nevertheless, she rescues him. She
exemplifies the teaching in the Midrash that
“loving kindness conquers all”.

Portrays the two spies who were sent to
survey Jericho. In order to protect them, they were
hidden in flax by the innkeeper, Rahab. Later, she was to
hang a red thread from the same window from which she
helped them escape. This would safeguard her household
from the invading army. The tribes of Israel are also
depicted, as is the Talit which is to serve as a reminder
to “remember and observe all the commandments of the
Lord”.
